MIL-STD-45662 guide to calibration
As one of the first standards specific to calibration, the US Army’s MIL-STD-45662 was pioneering. By clearly defining the concepts of calibration and traceability and setting out both detailed and general requirements for calibration laboratories, it was universally adopted by both civilian and military contractors.
Despite supposedly being made obsolete a quarter of a century ago, MIL-STD-45662A is still relevant today. As military standards were issued freely where new industrial standards were often expensive to buy, MIL-STD-45662A continued to be used long after it was officially phased out.
